Mentor

Giving a few hours a month of your time can make all the difference. Mercy Mission Mentors are volunteers that wish to make a difference and help settle a refugee/migrant into the Great British society.

Our mentors will be trained to acquire the skills and understanding of the needs of migrants and or refugee youth. Mentoring is very rewarding and can help to develop your own personal and professional skills.

All our mentors will be taken through our thorough recruitment process which includes full enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks, training on safeguarding and training on how to be a successful mentor.

Mentoring is a time-proven strategy that can help young people of all circumstances achieve their potential. Mentors are caring individuals who, along with parents or guardians, provide young people with support, counsel, friendship, reinforcement and a constructive example. But mentoring is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. Every young person who would benefit from a mentoring relationship has individual needs. Effective mentoring programs offer enough flexibility to help meet each menteeā€™s personal needs, yet allow mentoring relationships to flourish within a safe structure.
